WASH in healthcare facilities

Lack of access to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services in health care facilities has far‐reaching implications to human health and well‐being. This brief summarizes the WASH requirements of healthcare facilities and explains that although infrastructure is key, it is only part of the solution. The larger challenges are often around hygiene promotion and behaviour change and putting in place systems to manage WASH services.
