CAWST Receives Energy Globe Award for Zambia

World Environment Day Recognition

energy_globeToday, World Environment Day, (WED) is celebrated every year on the 5th of June to promote worldwide understanding when it comes to the need to take positive environmental action. In conjunction with this important day, CAWST has been presented with a National Energy Globe Award for its Africa Manzi Centre (WET Centre) project in Zambia.

This award is collaboratively acknowledged by the Energy Globe Foundation, United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), World Environment Day (WED) and UNESCO. The Energy Globe Awards showcase the most exceptional projects and solutions for many of our environmental problems - initiatives that will ensure survival for many more people in the world, projects that will protect our environment, and solutions for offering more hope.

CAWST's Water, Expertise and Training (WET) Centre model, alongside its partner in Zambia, represents a change of paradigm, through innovative approach to training and education, within current development aid efforts. CAWST is honoured to share this award with the Africa Manzi Centre in Zambia.

To learn more about CAWST and our work, join us on June 19 from 5.30 - 7pm at our Calgary office for our Open House. Please RSVP.
