After an extensive search, the CAWST Board has appointed Shauna Curry to the position of CAWST CEO effective October 1, 2011.Shauna has been CAWST's Director, International Services since 2005, responsible for building the capability of CAWST's clients to deliver water and sanitation programs through direct training and consulting.
CAWST's results to date, 3.6 million people impacted in 66 countries globally, are a direct result of Shauna's initiative and drive. She has developed a good understanding of client needs, how they progress and their route to independence. Consequently, she has been very successful in establishing priorities for client services, and, in maintaining good client relationships. Furthermore, Shauna has worked to get a good understanding of the global water and sanitation picture and has represented CAWST at many large global conferences.
Over the years Shauna has been a lynch-pin at CAWST, providing stability and direction at the home office while I was travelling or working away from the office. She has recruited an extraordinary global team, all of whom are passionate and knowledgeable about providing water and sanitation to the poor. And she has engendered team collaboration both within the International Services team and among all the CAWST departments.
She has been a leader in developing the CAWST business, playing a key part in developing CAWST's Key Performance Indicators and management indicators, Human Resources Policies & Procedures, Travel Safety and Security Policies & Procedures, and Project Management processes.
